Volunteer With S’il Vous Play!


S’il Vous Play! runs on the energy, kindness, and enthusiasm of volunteers. Whether you’re greeting attendees, teaching games, helping with setup, or supporting special events, you help create a welcoming, inclusive, and joyful convention experience.


Volunteering is open to everyone, even if this is your first time volunteering.


Please note:

  • Volunteer roles are not yet fully defined.
  • The Volunteer Lead will reach out to confirm your role, schedule, and responsibilities.
  • Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.

Volunteer Roles


Volunteers support the convention in several key areas, including but not limited to:

  • Front Desk & Library
  • Demo Specialist
  • Floater
  • Consignment Sale Assistant
  • Setup & Teardown
  • Team Captain

Additional roles may be added as programming and logistics evolve.


Volunteer Expectations


Volunteers are expected to:

  • Arrive 15 minutes before their shift
  • Wear their volunteer shirt and badge visibly
  • Be friendly, patient, and respectful
  • Follow the Code of Conduct
  • Ask a Team Captain for help when needed
  • Stay in their assigned area unless redirected
  • Keep aisles clear and safe
  • Support attendees with questions or guidance

Training & Policies


All volunteers must review:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Volunteer Guide (internal document)
  • Role‑specific instructions provided before the event

A short orientation will be provided before your first shift.


Volunteer Benefits


Volunteer benefits are still being finalized. The Volunteer Lead will confirm all benefits, including badge type, access level, and any additional perks.


Volunteer Badge

  • Volunteers receive a badge based on the amount of time they work.
  • Badge type will be determined by the Volunteer Lead.
  • Details will be shared once scheduling is complete.

Volunteer Shirt

  • All volunteers receive a S’il Vous Play volunteer shirt.
  • Shirts are provided before your shift.
  • Shirts must be worn during volunteer hours.
  • Shirts are yours to keep.
  • Volunteers working multiple days may receive additional shirts (based on availability).

Meals

  • Volunteers receive meal allotment funds or a provided meal.
  • Dietary restrictions will be accommodated whenever possible.
  • Details will be confirmed once scheduling is finalized.

Additional Benefits

Additional perks (e.g., raffle entries, discounts, early access privileges) are still being defined.
